2-year-old boy taken to trauma center after falling from balcony in Mississauga: police – Toronto OCN News

A two-year-old child was taken to a trauma center after falling from the balcony of an apartment building in Mississauga, police say.

In a tweet Friday, Peel Regional Police said the incident happened in the Erin Mills Parkway and Fowler Drive area around 5:15 p.m.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday evening, Peel Regional Police Const. Heather Cannon said the two-year-old fell from the balcony and landed on the ground.

She said the child was taken to a children’s trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

Cannon said it was not immediately clear whether the child was a resident of the building or how he fell from the balcony.

Cannon did not say how many stories the boy fell, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
