News Daily Digital Desk: Pale Modi government’s bright plan! The central government started giving free cooking gas (LPG connection) to the financially backward women by beating the drums. However, in the last financial year, many customers of this project could not refill the gas cylinders. Many were able to refill the cylinder only once last year. Because, the price of cooking gas is gradually going up.
Sky-high market prices. When going to the market, the general public is feeling burnt. Fuel prices are also rising by leaps and bounds. Even the price of LPG cylinders has crossed thousands. The price of kerosene is also increasing. As a result, many are leaving LPG and returning to wood-coal fuel. In such a situation, there is a lot of information about Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

The Center launched the Prime Minister’s Ujjwala Yojana to provide pollution-free cooking to the lower strata of society. The project provided free cooking gas connections. A cylinder with connection was provided free of charge. Chandrashekhar Gaur, a social worker, did an RTI to find out how many customers of the project are actually refilling cylinders at the current rate of cooking gas. In response, the country’s three oil producers gave shocking information. What did they say?
It is learned that 90 lakh customers of this project did not refill the cylinders in the financial year 2019-2020. And more than 1 crore customers refilled gas cylinders only once in a financial year. It may be mentioned that the Modi government had planned to cover 80 million people in this project by May 2020. Already 90 million people have been brought under this project. Even the second phase of the project has been launched. However, the question remains as to how many people are actually getting the benefits of the project even though they are under the project.
