In the back door recruitment case in Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, Speaker Ritu Khanduri held a press conference today and said that approval for cancellation of 228 ad-hoc appointments has been sent to the government. Along with this, the assembly secretary Mukesh Singhal has also been suspended with immediate effect. The Speaker said that while submitting the inquiry report, the chairman of the inquiry committee DK Kotia, SS Rawat and Avnendra Singh Nayal were present. Chairman Ritu Khanduri said that the committee has recommended cancellation of appointments.
The Speaker said that the youth should not be disappointed. We will always be strict in taking action on irregularities. The inquiry committee has completed its investigation in 20 days and submitted the investigation report. Along with this, the personnel of the assembly also gave full cooperation in the investigation. This investigation report is of 214 pages. In the investigation report, there have been irregularities in the ad-hoc appointments made in 2016 and 2021, the inquiry committee demanded the cancellation of these appointments.

The Speaker said that the government has approved to cancel 150 appointments till 2016, 6 appointments in 2020, 72 appointments in 2021. The decision to cancel these appointments may also be taken. In fact, according to the intention of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in the case of backdoor recruitment in the Dehradun Assembly, the Speaker has announced the cancellation of 250 appointments, taking a decision on the basis of the report of the inquiry committee. On this, CM Dhami said that in the course of the request letter sent to the Speaker in the past, the action on irregular assembly recruitments shows the commitment of the state government towards good governance policy. The cancellation of the controversial recruitments by the Speaker is a very commendable step. The state government is also working on formulating an effective policy to bring complete transparency in future recruitments.
The committee submitted its report to the Speaker of the Assembly, in it there are 214 pages. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri said that now information about this matter is also being sent to the government as the approval for the creation of posts comes from the Secretariat and a letter is being sent to the Personnel Department. The committee has submitted this report in less than the stipulated time i.e. within 20 days. In this report, transparency and compliance of rules and all those things were taken care of how the appointments are made.
