California Family Pleads for Help After $2,500 Pet Parrot is Stolen in Broad Daylight

A California family is in distress after their beloved pet parrot, Luna, was stolen from their porch in broad daylight. The African gray parrot, who has been with the family for ten years, was enjoying some fresh air outside when a thief snatched her from her cage and made off with her in a red SUV. The family, who describe Luna as “a joy to be around,” are now pleading with the public for any information about the suspects involved in the theft.

The theft was caught on camera, and police believe that at least two people were involved in the crime. The family is stunned at how quickly Luna was taken, and they are heartbroken at the loss of their feathered friend. Luna’s owner, Karen Gerardo, told the press that losing Luna is like losing a dog or a cat. Birds, she explained, have their own personalities, and Luna was a much-loved member of the family.

African gray parrots are known for their intelligence and can live for up to 80 years. Luna was a particularly special bird, as she knew how to sing and mimic songs from movies and TV shows. She was also very attached to the family’s son. The family is now appealing to the public for help in finding Luna and bringing her home.
