According to the ministry, rating Indian cars on the basis of crash tests is very important, as it will ensure the structure of the cars and the safety of the passengers. Also, this will help in increasing the export of vehicles made in India.
Cars and vehicles in India now have to perform well in crash tests to get better ratings. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari (Nitin Gadkari) today said that vehicles will get star rating based on their performance in crash tests. Gadkari informed that he has approved the draft GSR notification of Bharat NCAP i.e. Bharat New Car Assessment Program. Giving information through a tweet, he said that such a mechanism has been proposed in India NCAP, where trains are given star rating (Star Ratings) on the basis of their performance in the crash test. According to the Union Minister, this star rating will make it easier for customers to choose a safe car for themselves, while the rules will encourage companies to make better and safer vehicles. Along with this, companies will also be helped in increasing exports.
Customers will get safe cars
In his tweet, Gadkari wrote that the Bharat New Car Assessment Program ie Bharat NCAP will work as a customer-centric platform. This platform will in a way help the customers to choose a safe car based on the star ratings. On the other hand, it will motivate the auto sector companies to make safe vehicles in India and create an environment of healthy competition. He tweeted that I have approved the draft GSR notification for the launch of Bharat NCAP. Where vehicles will get star ratings based on their performance in crash tests. At the same time, according to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, ratings of Indian cars on the basis of crash tests are very important, because this will ensure the structure of the cars and the safety of the passengers. Also, this will help in increasing the export of vehicles made in India. At the same time, according to the Union Minister, the tests will be done at the level of international rules, so that the car companies will be able to test all their vehicles at their testing centers in India. This will help in making the country’s auto sector self-reliant and make India the center of the world’s auto sector.
Why the government’s emphasis on safety
Every year a large number of people die in road accidents in the country. According to a report by the Road Ministry, the lives of most of the people who died in accidents could have been saved if the vehicles had safety features. At the same time, cars with low safety do not get a place in foreign markets. Due to this the possibilities of their export also end. Along with the lives of people, the government has set standards for all cars to increase opportunities for car companies in foreign markets. By implementing international level security standards, both security and business will be improved.
