Kelowna Traffic: Fatal Crash Shuts Northbound Highway 97 OCN News

A fatal crash involving a motorcycle shut down a highway in Kelowna on Thursday afternoon.

The collision happened just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Route 97 and the north end of Old Vernon Road, according to Kelowna RCMP.

An image of the scene shared by Castanet News shows a black tarp set up on the road.

According to police, the motorcycle and a van collided. They did not say how many people were in each vehicle or how many injuries or deaths resulted from the crash.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 97 were closed following the incident, causing significant delays as traffic was redirected to Airport Way, Mounties said.
