M180 closed after serious collision near Scunthorpe OCN News

A serious collision closed off a section of the M180 motorway on Saturday evening (May 14).

The eastbound carriageway was due to be closed overnight, the National Highways Agency said, as Humberside Police attended the crash. The road has been closed between junction 3 (Scunthorpe, M181) and junction 4 (A15 for Lincoln).

The crash happened around 9:16 p.m. Saturday night. Lane one of two on the M180 motorway has also been closed to the westbound carriageway between the same two junctions.

The National Highways Agency said: ‘Due to the severity of the collision, the carriageway is expected to remain closed overnight. The agency said it has resources to help with traffic management.

Signed diversions route traffic east via the A18 and A15. However, heavy goods vehicles are advised to use a route including the A1077, A1079, A18 and A15.
