NIA raids 4 locations in Kashmir and arrests 2 surface workers from terrorist group TRF OCN NEWS

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided four locations in the Kashmir Valley on Saturday in connection with a terror plot case and arrested two Resistance Force (TRF) surface workers, one front of Pakistan Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), an official said. The searches were carried out at four locations – one in Baramulla and Kupwara districts in North Kashmir and Pulwama and Shopian districts in South Kashmir – an NIA spokesperson said.

The official said that digital devices such as cell phones, laptops, SIM cards and memory cards, as well as incriminating equipment used for the manufacture of improvised explosive devices, jihadist literature and posters were seized during searches. The NIA identified the arrested surface workers (OGW) as Muzamil Mushtaq Bhat from Baramulla and Fayaz Ahmad Khan from Kupwara and said they were in contact with their Pakistan-based handlers for providing logistical support for terrorist activities, disseminated terrorist propaganda, radicalized and recruited new members of TRF.

The case registered by the NIA on November 18 last year concerns the activities of the TRF and its so-called commander Sajjad Gul, who actively radicalised, motivated and recruited young people in Jammu and Kashmir to be engaged in violent activities within the territory of the Union. and other parts of the country, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said that Gul, along with other associated LeT commanders, had recruited OGWs to conduct reconnaissance of pre-determined targets, coordinate and transport weapons, ammunition and explosives to support LeT and other terrorists. the TRF in order to launch attacks against security forces and carry out targeted assassinations.

Further investigation into the matter was underway, the NIA said.
