A mob pelted stones at the Indore police station on Wednesday night following the suspicious death of a tribal girl. The police resorted to lathicharge and firing in the air to bring the situation under control. While six police officers were injured in the conflict, a young man died. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.

It was reported that the girl died on Wednesday evening at Mhow’s Badgonda police station, where the girl’s family members blocked the body of the girl in front of the Dongargion police station. Police have also arrested a youth in connection with the girl’s suspicious death. The crowd wanted it to be given to the youth.

The girl’s relatives say that the young man abused her and the police are trying to suppress the matter. Later the crowd pelted stones and the situation worsened. The crowd destroyed the vehicles by throwing stones. The police had to use lathicharge and fire in the air to bring the situation under control. Half a dozen policemen were injured in the stone pelting, while a tribal youth also died.

Describing the incident as tragic, Chief Minister Chouhan ordered a magisterial inquiry. At the same time, the Congress formed a team of Members of Parliament to investigate. Congress was told that after the alleged rape and murder of a tribal girl, there was a clash between the police and the Hlanga at the Dongargaon police station at the Badgonda police station in Mhow and it is suspected that a man was involved. On the orders of PCC President and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, a team of Congress MLAs has gone to the area to investigate the death.

The Congress investigation team includes Kantilal Bhuria, Bala Bachchan, Jhuma Solanki and Pachilal Meda. Indore manager Mahendra Joshi has also left for this place. This team will find out the truth of the incident and talk to the victims. The team will submit its report to Kamal Nath.
