Red Cross helps Prince Edward Island family after fire destroys their home OCN News

A family of five have been displaced after a fire destroyed their home in St. Edward, PEI, about 15 kilometers northwest of Alberton.

Firefighters were called to the home on Union Road (Highway 152) around 2 p.m. Friday.

A Canadian Red Cross press release says two adults and three children are temporarily staying with relatives. The Red Cross also helps them with emergency purchases such as food, clothing, childcare items and other basic necessities.

No injuries were reported.
