The bamboo bridge collapsed in the rain, causing problems for the residents ocn news

Jamaldah: The bamboo bridge broke in the continuous rain. On Wednesday, a bamboo bridge built by the villagers’ voluntary ashram at 210 Debottar Buraburi in the Bangladesh border village of Jamaldaha gram panchayat in Mekhliganj block collapsed. At present, the residents have to travel several kilometers by detour. Meanwhile, as the area is bordering, the residents have to face many questions from the border security forces in the evening. For a long time, the locals have been protesting against the Mekhliganj block administration demanding the construction of the bridge. But to date no one has shown initiative to build a new bridge. They are forced to cross this broken bridge. Accidents can happen at any moment.

Dhajen Barman, a local resident, said that despite repeated assurances from local MLAs and ministers, the demand for a new bridge has not been met. Although Mekhaliganj BDO Arun Kumar Samanta assured the locals to take necessary steps to solve the problem.
