The Minister of Finance, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, said that the assistance of the World Bank has played an important role in the economic development of Pakistan.
According to the information, the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has met the Regional Director of Bank South Asia, John A. Rome and Country Director Naji Benhasin.
In the meeting, the World Bank’s projects for the rehabilitation of flood victims, assistance in the province of Sindh and Balochistan were discussed.
At the meeting, the Minister of Economic Affairs, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, said that the World Bank is one of the major development partners, the World Bank has provided 31.1 billion dollars to Pakistan since the 1950s.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that the World Bank’s assistance has been and will continue to play an important role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
He said we received full support from the World Bank’s flood relief team, the World Bank’s support is very important in major economic sectors.
Ayaz Sadiq also said that the Ministry monitors the projects through ongoing meetings of the National Coordination Committee for Internationally Funded Projects.
The Minister of Economic Affairs, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, further stated that a coordinating committee has been established to monitor international assistance in relation to flood relief operations.
In the meeting, the Regional Director Mr. Rome greatly appreciated the active role of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
